Eine Auswahl von Comics, bei denen Bruce Waynes Butler Alfred im Mittelpunkt steht. Alfred stammt ursprünglich aus dem ersten Kino-Serial der 40er-Jahre. In dieser Zeit erlebte er sogar Solo-Abenteuer als Detektiv. Alfred hatte zunächst keinen Nachnamen, später nannte er sich Beagle, erst 1966 (in der Batman-TV-Serie) wurde Pennyworth daraus, 1969 auch in den Comics.
